About the VME - VMM Pressure Roller Shaft
The VME - VMM Pressure Roller Shaft (K23) carries the pressure roller on Van de Wiele VME and VMM velvet looms. The roller turns on this shaft to press the rapier against the drive wheel, so any play or bend in the shaft directly affects how the rapier contacts the wheel. K23 is made for the VME and VMM models, unlike the shaft on MPS looms.
Wear marks on the shaft, the roller running off-axis, noise while turning, or having to change the roller often are all good reasons to inspect the shaft.
