About the VDW Carbon Rapier Complete Male
The VDW Carbon Rapier Complete Male (K2) is the male side of the Van de Wiele velvet loom carbon rapier system, supplied ready-assembled with its head. The male rapier is one of the two sides that meet in the middle of the shed to transfer the weft. Having the complete male side available lets you repair a loom where only this side is damaged, without replacing the entire set.
Typical triggers are missed picks during weft transfer on the male side, broken carbon, or play in the head connection. Check the opposite side while you are at it; if the female rapier is also worn, fitting it together with the VDW Carbon Rapier Complete Female makes adjustment easier. If only the head is damaged, the male rapier head is available separately.

Is it enough to replace only the male side?
If the female side is still in good condition, yes. If both are worn, renewing them together makes setting up easier.

K2 is the complete male rapier including the head; K4 is the male carbon rapier itself, used with your existing head.
