About the MPS Pressure Roller Shaft
The MPS Pressure Roller Shaft (K22) is the shaft the pressure roller turns on in Van de Wiele MPS velvet looms. For the roller to press the rapier evenly against the drive wheel, the shaft must be straight, clean-surfaced and free of play in its mounting. It is made for the MPS model and differs from the shaft used on VME and VMM looms.
Check the shaft if the roller wobbles or turns stiffly, if you see scratches or a worn groove on the shaft, or if the rapier still slips after the roller has been replaced. When you fit a new shaft together with a new pressure roller, the two bed in together and the setting is easier. VME and VMM looms use the K23 shaft.
