About the VME - VMM Selvedge Cutter Complete
The VME - VMM Selvedge Cutter Complete (M5) is the complete selvedge cutter unit for Van de Wiele VME and VMM velvet looms, trimming the weft ends and edge yarns left at the fabric selvedge. Body, cutting element and linkage are supplied together, which makes it the practical choice when you want to renew the edge cutting area in one go on either model.
Irregular, long or pulled ends at the selvedge, broken edge yarns and a cutter that catches as it closes all indicate the selvedge cutter should be checked. If the fault is in the motion transfer, the M8 VME - VMM Selvedge Cutter Connection can be changed on its own; if the cutter does not spring back, look at the M16 VME - VMM Selvedge Cutter Spring.
