About the MPS Selvedge Cutter Complete Right
The MPS Selvedge Cutter Complete Right (M6) is the selvedge cutter unit that works on the right-hand edge of the Van de Wiele MPS velvet loom. It trims the weft ends and edge yarns on the right side of the fabric to keep a clean selvedge. The right and left cutters on the MPS are mirror images of each other, so it is important to specify the side when ordering.
Fraying on the right edge, long tails, or one selvedge looking different from the other are signs this cutter needs checking. The left side uses the M7 MPS Selvedge Cutter Complete Left; if both sides have worn over the same period, replacing them as a pair keeps both edges consistent.
