About the VMM - VME Selvedge Cutter
The VMM - VME Selvedge Cutter (M10) is the cutter itself for Van de Wiele VMM and VME velvet looms, supplied without the linkage, as the cutting unit only. It is the economical choice when the connection and spring on your loom are still sound and only the cutter has worn. The selvedge cutter is responsible for a clean cut of the edge yarns and weft ends.
A dull cutting edge, pulling instead of cutting, fringes at the selvedge and breaking edge yarns are the main reasons to replace M10. When fitting it, check the tension of the M16 VME - VMM Selvedge Cutter Spring as well; a weak spring will stop even a new cutter from closing properly.
