About the VME Weft Cutter Arm
The VME Weft Cutter Arm (M4) is the linkage arm that drives the weft cutter on the Van de Wiele VME velvet loom. The opening and closing timing of the cutter depends on this arm, so a sound arm is essential for a clean cut on every pick. VME users generally treat it as a separate maintenance item from the cutter diamonds.
Oval pin holes, a bent arm or a delay at the moment of cutting are the usual reasons to replace it. If the cutting edges are also dull, it makes sense to change the diamonds at the same time, for example the M11 Weft Cutter Diamond Small or the type that matches your loom.
