About the MPS Knife Cord Guide Pulley
The B21 MPS Knife Cord Pulley, direction type, works at the points where the knife cord changes direction on Van de Wiele MPS velvet looms. As the cord pulls the knife slide across the width, it turns at set points, and this direction pulley lets it do so without strain. A smoothly turning pulley keeps cord tension steady and lets the pile-cutting knife travel evenly between the two fabrics.

Why does the cord fray at the same spot every time?
Usually a pulley groove along the cord path has a sharp edge or the pulley wobbles. Checking the direction pulley where the cord turns is a good place to start.
Can the direction pulley be replaced on its own?
Yes, only the worn pulley needs replacing. If the cord is damaged as well, we suggest renewing it together with the new pulley.
