About the MPS Female Guide
The MPS Female Guide (K16) is the guide track the female rapier passes through on Van de Wiele MPS velvet looms. On every pick the female rapier runs in and out of the shed along this guide, and its inner surface keeps the rapier moving straight and steadily. It does the same job as K15 on the male side but is shaped for the female side.
Fresh scratches along the sides of the female rapier, the rapier struggling at the guide entry, cracks in the guide or play at the mounting all mean it is time to replace it.
