About the Günne Shuttle Male
The Günne Shuttle Male (K25) is the male-side shuttle on Günne velvet looms: the head at the tip of the rapier that carries out weft transfer. It meets the female shuttle in the centre of the shed so the weft passes from one side to the other. Its form is specific to Günne looms, so it is not interchangeable with Van de Wiele rapier heads.
Burrs on the shuttle, wear in the gripping area, impact marks or repeated missed transfers mean the male shuttle should be checked. After replacement, reset the meeting point with the female shuttle; the partner part is the Günne Shuttle Female. For the wheel that drives the rapier there is the Günne Drive Wheel Aluminium.
