About the Günne Shuttle Female
The Günne Shuttle Female (K26) sits at the tip of the female rapier on Günne velvet looms and meets the male shuttle in the centre of the shed to take part in weft transfer. A reliable handover depends on the female shuttle's gripping area staying clean and even. It is shaped for Günne looms and should not be mixed up with heads from other loom makes.
The weft dropping at the transfer point, wear or nicks at the shuttle mouth, frequent build-up of yarn fluff, or play in the connection can all mean K26 needs replacing.
