About the Rapier Block Fibre
The Rapier Block Fibre (K11) is the fibre-material type of the block that guides and supports the rapier as it runs through the velvet loom. Its role is the same as the plastic version: keep the rapier on its line and control friction at the contact points. Some mills prefer fibre because of their maintenance habits or because it is the type already used on their looms.
On a fibre block, watch for surface layers lifting, fibres opening at the edges, crushing, or new scratches appearing on the rapier body.
