About the Jacquard Rod
The Jacquard Rod (MG8) is a rod used in the jacquard assembly of the loom and listed in our catalogue under the Jacquard & Module Group. In a jacquard system, passing the movement from the modules on in a steady, aligned way depends on structural parts like this staying straight and in the correct position. A bent rod or worn contact faces can throw connected parts out of line and cause irregularities during weaving. Code MG8 identifies this rod.
Things to check are straightness, wear marks at contact points, ovalised mounting holes and scratches or burrs on the surface. Laying the rod on a flat surface is a quick way to spot any bend. A rod that is out of line can also wear the cords running near it, so review the condition of cords such as the M4 Pile Module Cord Double Bearing as well.
MG8 is a Göktürk-made equivalent. Photos showing the whole rod and its end fittings help us identify the right part; message WhatsApp 0541 951 44 10 for a quotation. If your loom uses rods of different lengths, send a photo of each one.
FAQ
Can a bent jacquard rod be straightened?
A slight bend can sometimes be corrected, but replacement is the more reliable way to restore alignment.
How can I tell whether the rod is bent?
Lay it on a flat surface and roll it; any gap opening underneath reveals a bend.
