About the M4 Pile Module
The M4 Pile Module (MG1) is the module that controls the pile yarns on an M4-type electronic jacquard. In velvet weaving the design is formed by which pile yarn is lifted on which pick; the pile module makes that selection from the pattern data and passes it on to the shed through the module cords attached to it. Because many modules work side by side in the jacquard, a fault in one module shows up as a repeating defect in one particular area of the design. Code MG1 is the pile-side module for the M4 jacquard.
When a pile module is failing you may see pile missing or added along the same vertical line of the design, delayed selection or an unusual noise around the module.
