About the M5 Ground Module
The M5 Ground Module (MG3) selects the yarns that make up the ground weave of the fabric on an M5-type electronic jacquard. It does the same job as the ground module in the M4 family but is designed around the M5 jacquard layout, so the two should not be treated as interchangeable. Yarns selected from the pattern data are passed to the shed through the double-bearing cords attached to the module. Code MG3 is the ground module for the M5 jacquard.
Typical signs of an M5 ground module fault are a weave defect repeating in the base of the fabric, a slack structure in one area and irregular selection movement. To pin the fault down, check the module cord and fixings on the affected line first, then look at the module itself. The M5 Ground Module Cord Double Bearing that carries its movement is usually assessed in the same service.
