About the M4 Pile Module Cord, Double Bearing
The M4 Pile Module Cord Double Bearing (MG5) is the module cord, running on a double-bearing pulley, that carries the pile module's selection to the shedding of the pile yarns on an M4-type electronic jacquard. In velvet the design is made directly by the lifting of pile yarns, so the condition of these cords shows straight away in how sharp the pattern looks. Cord and bearing are in constant motion for as long as the loom runs. Code MG5 is the cord for the M4 pile side and is distinct from MG6 on the ground side.
When a pile module cord breaks, the pile yarn it controls stops lifting or lifts irregularly, which appears as a line of missing pile repeating in the same place on the fabric face. Fuzzing on the cord and noise or stiffness in the bearing are early warnings. If the defect remains after the cord is changed, check the M4 Pile Module it connects to.
MG5 is supplied by Göktürk as an equivalent part. Send your quantity and a photo of the cord so we can confirm fit; quotations on WhatsApp 0541 951 44 10 or see the Jacquard & Module Group.
FAQ
What is the difference between MG5 and MG6?
Both are for the M4 jacquard; MG5 is used on the pile module and MG6 on the ground module.
What should I do if I see a line of missing pile?
First check whether the module cord on that line is broken or caught; if it is sound, check the module.
