About the M4 Ground Module Cord, Double Bearing

The M4 Ground Module Cord Double Bearing (MG6) is the module cord with a double-bearing pulley that carries the ground module's movement to the shed of the ground yarns on an M4-type electronic jacquard. The ground side forms the load-bearing structure of the cloth, so these cords working properly is what gives velvet a sound, even base. Code MG6 identifies the cord used with the M4 ground module; the pile-side cord is listed separately as MG5, and the distinction matters when ordering.

When a ground cord wears or breaks, the back of the fabric shows repeating floats, slack weave or line defects. Because these faults sit beneath the pile they can be noticed late, so periodic maintenance should include checking cords for fuzzing and bearings for free rotation. If the defect persists with a sound cord, inspect the M4 Ground Module it connects to.

MG6 is supplied by Göktürk as an equivalent part. For a batch replacement, send photos and the quantity you need; message WhatsApp 0541 951 44 10 for a quotation.
