The B17 Fabric Cutting Blades 56x44x0,35 are the 0,35 thickness version of the blades that sit in the knife slide and do the pile cutting on a velvet loom. They fall in the middle of the series, which runs from 0,25 to 0,45. Moving across the loom width with the slide, the blade cuts the pile yarns that link the two fabrics. The thickness to use is set by the blade already on your loom and by how it mounts in the slide.
When fitting a new blade, make sure the mounting in the slide is clean and tight; a loosely held blade vibrates and leaves wavy pile. A worn slide will also stop a new blade from performing as it should, so check the condition of the B3 roller knife slide or graphite slide at every blade change.
