About the Weft Fork

The Weft Fork (A6) is the fork element of the monitoring device that checks whether the weft yarn is in the right place at the end of each pick on a velvet loom. It works with the weft spoon: when the yarn is present the fork meets it and completes its movement, and when the yarn is missing the fork moves to a different position and produces the signal that stops the loom. That way a missing pick is caught before it is woven into the fabric as a defect. Code A6 identifies this fork.

When the fork tips wear, bend or turn rough, sensing becomes unreliable. If the loom makes weft stops for no reason, or keeps running despite a missing pick, check the tip alignment and surface of the fork. Rough tips can also catch and break the yarn. When changing the fork, inspect the Spoon Linkage Group that drives it for play.

A6 is a Göktürk-made equivalent. Photos that clearly show the fork tips let us identify the right part; contact us on WhatsApp 0541 951 44 10 for a quotation. If you want the spoon as well, send both codes in one message.

FAQ

Can a bent weft fork be straightened and reused?

It may work temporarily, but alignment and surface may be compromised; replacement is recommended for reliable sensing.

Should the weft fork and spoon be replaced together?

They work as a pair, so check both; if both show wear, replacing them together is the better choice.
