About the Colour Selector
The Colour Selector (A1) is the unit on a velvet loom that presents the weft yarn called for by the pattern to the rapier head for the next pick. On looms running several colours or yarn types, placing the right yarn in position at the right moment on every pick is exactly its job. Code A1 refers to the selector body and its selecting mechanism; the pistons are listed under their own codes. Your loom model and a photo of the unit are enough for us to identify the matching part.
Trouble usually shows as the wrong colour appearing in the fabric, repeated missed picks on one particular colour, or selector fingers returning late. Start by checking the yarn path and whether each finger moves freely; if only one channel sticks, the piston is the usual suspect. In that case replacing a Colour Selector Piston Short is often more economical than renewing the whole body.
A1 is supplied as a Göktürk-made equivalent. Photos showing the whole unit and its mounting points help us diagnose. For a quotation message WhatsApp 0541 951 44 10; more parts are in the Apparatus Group.
FAQ
Is a wrong-colour pick always caused by the selector?
Not always; pattern data, yarn path and pistons should be checked too. If it repeats on one channel, check that channel's piston first.
Can I buy the pistons separately?
Yes, the colour selector pistons are listed separately under codes A2 and A3.
