Why by group?
A fault on a velvet loom rarely involves a single part; it usually involves several parts in the same zone. That is why our catalogue is organised by loom zone rather than as a brand-model list. This post maps those groups for Van de Wiele MPS, VMM and VME users.
Rapier and carbon zone → Velvet Loom Parts
Rapier heads (male and female), carbon rapier set and complete, rapier blocks (plastic and fibre), rear blocks and connections, MPS male and female guides, shuttle connection plates and drive wheels. The most worn zone of the loom, and the largest group in the catalogue for that reason.
Cutting zone → Knife Group
Knife bed and slide (bearing or graphite), knife cord (dry and oiled, 4-5-6 mm), grinding stones, fabric cutting blades and knife cord pulleys and drums. MPS, VME and VMM have separate pulley and drum codes; state the loom model when ordering.
Weft cutting and selvedge → Cutter Group
Weft cutter group complete (VMM and MPS separately), cutter arms and shafts, selvedge cutter complete (VME-VMM and MPS right/left), cutter diamonds, springs, weft holders and mirrors.
Drive → Gear Group and Belt Group
Gearbox gears, MPS worm and needle gears, weft and selvedge waste take-up gears are in the Gear Group; dobby and knife drive belts in the Belt Group.
Warp and cloth path → Warp Group, Temple, Selvedge Knitting
Warp regulator brake group and lining, let-off arms, regulator pawl and spring, MPS warp cam in the Warp Group. Temple and its connection, and needle, perforated and grooved selvedge knitting parts in their own groups.
Pattern → Jacquard & Module Group
M4 pile and ground modules, M5 ground module, double-bearing module cords, Ciel card and jacquard rod.
Carpet looms
Pulley blocks and carpet knife cord drums for CRP, CRX, CRT and CRM carpet looms are in the catalogue; for other carpet parts, ask with a photo.
