CRP and CRM spare parts: pulley block and drum codes

Van de Wiele CRP and CRM carpet loom spare parts: small and large pulley block codes, the CRX-CRT drum and the checks that stop ordering mistakes.

Small pulley block for CRP - CRX carpet looms

Many carpet mills run Van de Wiele CRP and CRM looms side by side, and that mix is the most common source of wrong spare part orders. This guide is for purchasing and maintenance staff who need CRP and CRM spare parts and want to get the codes right first time. It sets out how our pulley block and drum codes are split by model, which codes are shared with CRX and CRT, and what to confirm before you place an order.

The basic rule for CRP and CRM spare parts

In our catalogue, pulley blocks are divided into two families by loom model:

  • CRP and CRX family: P1 small pulley block and P2 large pulley block.
  • CRT and CRM family: P4 small pulley block and P3 large pulley block.

So the correct pulley block for a CRP shares its code with the CRX, and the correct one for a CRM shares its code with the CRT. CRP and CRM do not share a pulley block code. The classic mistake in a mixed shed is to order “carpet pulley blocks” under a single code for every loom.

The full range is on our Pulley Blocks page.

Pay attention to the drum column. The CRX - CRT Carpet Knife Cord Drum (B24) is listed in our catalogue for CRX and CRT. If you need a drum for a CRP or CRM, do not order this code blind; send a photo of your current drum and the loom nameplate and we will match it with you.

Pulley blocks: small versus large

A pulley block is a transmission/suspension element widely used on carpet looms; it varies by model and position. In our catalogue the small and large blocks are listed under separate codes for their positions; we confirm fit from a photo. The pulley block codes in our catalogue are:

Wear on a pulley block usually shows as a pulley that no longer turns freely, a groove worn into the pulley track, or more noise while running. A pulley with a damaged groove also chews through the cord running over it, so check the block whenever you change the cord.

Five checks before ordering

  1. Read the model name on the loom nameplate; do not rely on “that line was always CRP”.
  2. Note whether the block is small or large, based on the position you took it from.
  3. Photograph the part in place before removal and again on a flat surface afterwards.
  4. Turn each pulley by hand and mark the ones that bind or have play.
  5. If a cord or drum needs changing in the same stoppage, add it to the list so everything ships together.

Field note: If you run different carpet loom models in one shed, split your spares shelf by model and write both the part code and the loom model on every box. Discovering a wrong pulley block after the old one is already off costs more in downtime than the part itself.

Practical sourcing tips for CRP and CRM

Moving parts such as pulley blocks and drums tend to wear together on carpet looms. It makes sense to hold a small set rather than single parts: one small block, one large block and, where the catalogue lists one, the matching drum for each model. Match each set to your looms with the table above, and if a cell says “confirm by photo”, talk to us before ordering.

Göktürk pulley blocks are equivalent parts made in our own workshop. We match dimensions and fit to your loom model and the sample photo you send. The same codes apply to domestic and export orders, so a mill in India or Egypt can quote exactly the same code as a mill in Turkey.

FAQ

Will a CRP pulley block fit a CRM loom?

In our catalogue, CRP uses P1-P2 and CRM uses P4-P3. They belong to different families and are listed under separate codes; we confirm fit from a photo.

Can the B24 drum be used on a CRP?

B24 is listed for CRX and CRT. We do not recommend it for CRP or CRM until we have confirmed the fit from a photo of your drum and the loom nameplate.

Can the velvet pulley block be used on a carpet loom?

The Velvet Pulley Block (P5) is a separate code in our catalogue and is not the same part as the carpet pulley blocks. For carpet looms, choose the right one from P1–P4 for your model.

To take the guesswork out of your next CRP and CRM spare parts order, send a photo of the loom nameplate and the part on WhatsApp to +90 541 951 44 10.

Send a photo of the part, we quote it

No part number needed. Send a photo and the loom model on WhatsApp.
