About the Grinding Stone FII
The B13 Grinding Stone FII is the second type in the grinding stone range and works in the unit that sharpens the cutting knife while a velvet loom runs. Its job is to renew the knife edge on every pass so the pile is cut rather than crushed. FII is a distinct type from FI and FIII; which one suits your loom is decided by the marking on the stone you remove and by how it mounts in the grinding unit.
After fitting a new stone, check that it meets the knife evenly. Uneven contact wears one face of the blade more than the other. A stepped stone face or glazing on one side only points to the same imbalance. The other types in the range are the FI Grinding Stone and the FIII Grinding Stone.
