About the Knife Bed Complete, Roller Type
The B1 Knife Bed Complete, roller type, is the guideway in which the knife slide travels across a face-to-face velvet loom. While the upper and lower fabrics are woven together, a traversing knife cuts the pile yarns between them, and the bed keeps that stroke straight and free of vibration. In the roller version the slide rides on rollers rather than on sliding surfaces. It comes as a complete assembly, so bed body and rollers are renewed together.
A worn bed lets the knife wander off its cutting line. Watch for uneven pile height, cut marks that get worse towards one selvedge, rattling from the rollers or a stroke that feels rough. When you replace the bed, inspect the B3 roller knife slide as well, because an old slide in a new bed can still leave play. Moving to the graphite system means changing bed and slide as a pair.
B1 is a Göktürk-made equivalent, manufactured and supplied from Istanbul. Send a photo of your current bed and your loom model on WhatsApp +90 541 951 44 10 and we will confirm the match and quote.
FAQ
What is the difference between a roller and a graphite knife bed?
In the roller type the slide rolls on rollers; in the graphite type it glides on graphite sliding surfaces. The right choice follows the slide type already fitted to your loom.
Is replacing the B1 bed on its own enough?
If the slide is also worn, play can remain even in a new bed, so we recommend checking the slide whenever the bed is changed.
