About the Temple
The CM1 Temple holds the fabric out to its full width close to the fell of the cloth. After each pick the fabric tends to draw in; the temple resists this so the width between the reed and the selvedge is maintained. That reduces rubbing and breakage of the edge warp ends against the reed. We identify the right temple type for your loom model from a photo of the one you are using.
Blunt rings or pins, rings that no longer turn freely, or pin marks left in the fabric are signs the temple needs attention. Broken edge warp ends, uneven fabric shrinkage and wavy selvedges are also common symptoms. Check the mounting side too with the Temple Connection; all related parts are in the Temple Group.
