The B15 Fabric Cutting Blades 56x44x0,25 fit into the knife slide of a velvet loom and cut the pile yarns between the two fabrics woven face to face. In the code, 56x44 is the blade size and 0,25 the thickness, the thinnest option in the series. A thinner blade is more flexible. Choose the thickness to match the blade currently used on your loom and the way it mounts in the slide.
A dull blade leaves uncut yarns, uneven pile height and frayed tips; a nick in the edge produces lines that repeat along the fabric. Fitting a different thickness changes how the blade seats in the slide and how the grinding stone meets it. The next thickness up is the 56x44x0,30 cutting blade (B16).
